TRAINING OBJECTIVES

    Exercise is completed once the vessel comes out of the Dredged channel and waits 0.5 nautical miles East of the Harbour entrance. Candidate shall submit completion upon arrival WP 02.

    Cross current of 1.8 knots in South East Direction experienced in the Navigation area.

    Due to channel constraints Port Control requested to give priority to m/v SEA ACE to clear the channel. m/v SEA ACE will be west bound after channel exit.

    During the exercise the ownship is supposed to transit through the Buoyed dredged channel of 16 meters after picking up pilot and approaching on a South South Westerly course bound for Tanger Port. Berthing operation has been delayed and the vessel is advised to approach the port at slow speed(less then 7.0 knots) and keep safe CPA with Stationary and exiting vessels as required by COLREGS.

    The Objective of this exercise is Navigation for Arrival Port in slow speed and with low UKC and with an aim to test the Trainee’s knowledge of Handling of vessel and be aware of dangers involved in these situations not to just steer the vessel without having a collision, but also to demonstrate good bridge watch keeping and navigation practice. Below some guidance noted to assist in exercise:

  3. The simulator is ready for access, it will automatically open the simulation exercise in a separate window.

  5. Once the simulation page opens, you will be automatically redirected to the visual window of the simulator.
